Biography
James Jeong, MD, DMD, is assistant professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Department of Surgery with a secondary appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Jeong's primary clinical focus is oral/head and neck pathology and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Jeong is the first surgeon in Atlanta, Georgia, who has successfully performed the "Jaw in a Day" procedure. This innovative technique involves reconstructing the jaw using free tissue transfer, accompanied by the immediate placement of dental implants and teeth.
Education
Dr. Jeong completed his DMD degree at the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He received his Medical Degree and OMFS residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his microvascular fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
