New Heights

"I look forward to working closely with our community, our patients, our friends and supporters in moving Winship science and patient care to new heights."

Dear Winship Colleagues,

I am honored and humbled to begin my role as the Executive Director of Winship Cancer Institute.

Thanks to your hard work, dedication and commitment, Winship is at a very exciting point in its journey; incredible progress is being made in improving outcomes for cancer patients through our research, patient care and education. The innovative discoveries made by our scientists are breaking new ground; our patient-centered care model delivered by our physicians, nurses, and a host of others at every Winship facility is improving the lives of patients with cancer; and our training and education programs are helping to develop the next generation of leaders and innovators in oncology. We can all be proud of what we have accomplished together!

We continue to create a future that is full of opportunities; our new Winship at Emory Midtown building will take patient care to new heights; our scientific programs will advance understanding of the unique biology of each cancer, develop precision immunotherapy approaches, discover new drugs and bring technological innovations to address complex cancer problems. We will not only focus on cancer diagnosis and treatment, but also on addressing cancer disparities, early detection, risk reduction, and cancer survivorship. In doing all of these, we will be guided by our values which include collaboration, innovation, discovery, compassion, inclusion, integrity and hope.

Over the coming months, we will have many opportunities to talk with and listen to each other. The perspectives, insights and creativity of each one of us will continue to be vital in our progress. I look forward to working closely with you to realize our shared vision of discovering cures for cancer and inspiring hope.

Sincerely,

Ram
