The 7th annual Friends of Winship Fashion a Cure Fashion Show raised over $350,000 in support of cancer immunology research at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Nearly 550 guests attended the luncheon event on March 19 at the St. Regis Atlanta.
The Fashion a Cure Fashion Show, which has raised over $1.3 million since 2013, provides funding for and increases awareness in advancing research against cancers that affect women.
"The funds raised at the fashion show will support cancer immunology research for women with cancer," says Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD, executive director of Winship. "We are extremely grateful to our supporters who helped make this the most successful Winship fashion show in its history."
The event featured fashions from local boutiques and designers. Models included cancer survivors, caregivers, Winship researchers, and volunteers. An auction and raffle complemented the day's activities. The event co-chairs were Peggy Lientz and her daughters Shannon Kollme, Mary Kathryn Green, and Margaret Anne Masters. Barbara Dooley was the special guest speaker.
