Winship nursing symposium to take place March 15-16

Attendees fill the main presentation hall at the 10th annual Winship Nursing Symposium.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University will hold its 11^th annual Oncology Nursing Symposium March 15-16, 2019. The event will be held at the Atlanta Evergreen Conference Resort at Stone Mountain, Georgia. 

The keynote speaker is Sharon Pappas, PhD, RN, Chief Nurse Executive for Emory Healthcare. She will talk about "Nursing in the 21^st Century." Other topics during the symposium will focus on handling oncologic emergencies, understanding proton beam therapy, and evaluating the needs of cancer survivors. Attendees of the certified nursing education activity will be awarded up to 8.0 contact hours by the Emory Nursing Professional Development Center.
