Winship immunology-focused researchers will present at the 36th annual meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, taking place in Washington, D.C., November 10-14, 2021.

The 36th annual meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), taking place in Washington, D.C., November 10-14, 2021, will feature presentations from Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University immunology-focused researchers whose work is accelerating progress against cancer.

Nearly a dozen meeting abstracts represent some of the latest preclinical and clinical data from Winship cancer immunology studies, offering a glimpse at the future of preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer using immune-based approaches.

Meeting highlights include: a podium talk on "Immune memory to COVID-19 infection" by Rafi Ahmed, PhD, director of the Emory Vaccine Center and co-leader of Winship's Cancer Immunology Research Program; a debate on "Declassification/deconvolution of T cell types" with Haydn Kissick, PhD, assistant professor in Emory's Department of Urology and Department of Microbiology and Immunology; oral abstracts from postdoctoral fellow Sruthi Ravindranathan, PhD, MS, and doctoral student Nataliya Prokhnevska.
