Winship radiation oncologists and researchers led 31 presentations, posters and moderated sessions at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in San Antonio, October 23-26, 2022.

Radiation oncologists and researchers at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University led 31 presentations, posters and moderated sessions at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in San Antonio, October 23-26, 2022.

They joined colleagues from across the globe to discuss advances in cancer clinical trials and breakthrough science. The 64th annual meeting featured top research and education related to the theme, "AI and EI: Caring for the Patient in a Wireless World."

The ASTRO annual meeting is the world's largest scientific meeting in radiation oncology. The 2022 meeting featured more than 1,700 abstract presentations and clinical trial reports; cancer discoveries from the past year; educational programming focused on diversity, equity and inclusion; and storytelling sessions on patient safety, rural health care, virtual learning and other topics.
