Fashion a Cure event raises critical funds for women’s cancer research at Winship

The 2023 Friends of Winship Fashion a Cure Fashion Show on April 18 raised more than $340,000 to support research conducted at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in cancers that affect women. This year's theme was "Music to Our Ears" and featured music-inspired fashions from local boutiques and designers. Models included cancer survivors, caregivers, Winship researchers and volunteers.

Nearly 400 guests attended the event, which was held at the Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta, and included an auction, a giving challenge and a luncheon.

The Fashion a Cure Fashion Show, which has raised $2.5 million since 2013, provides funding for and increases awareness in advancing research against cancers that affect women.

“Winship is grateful to the Friends of Winship and to all of our community partners who made the 2023 Fashion a Cure event a success; the funds generated directly support innovative research at Winship,” says Suresh Ramalingam, MD, executive director of Winship.

Jane Jordan Casavant and Julie Fox co-chaired the event.

“I was so proud to be part of the team of Friends of Winship volunteers and staff who worked so hard to produce the 2023 Fashion A Cure event,” says Fox. Casavant added, "The combination of beautiful fashions from our boutiques, auction items and gifts from our generous donors, and Piedmont Driving Club as our backdrop, added together for a very successful day."
