Six Winship trainees from Emory University School of Medicine’s Departments of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery and Neurosurgery are recipients of this year's Nell W. and William S. Elkin Fellowships and Chester P. Rochfort Scholarships.
The awards are given out annually to extraordinary physician-scientists enrolled in eligible Emory training programs who have career goals in the research and treatment or prevention of cancer. Elkin Fellowship recipients receive $35,000, and Rochfort Scholarship recipients receive $10,000 for one year to help cover salary, laboratory costs and other research-related expenses, such as travel to conferences and meetings.
