Ms. Gorgens is an advanced registered nurse practitioner in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. She holds her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She has worked for Emory Healthcare since 2006.

Ms. Gorgens is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Georgia Chapter, Oncology Nursing Society and American Society for Radiation Oncology. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and a volunteer at MEDSHARE in Atlanta.

Ms. Gorgens was born in Stuttgart, Germany. She speaks German, English, Spanish, French and Turkish. In addition to her nurse practitioner experience, she has lived extensively abroad and has organized and planned diplomatic outreach programs with German trade and governmental agencies in Mexico City, Washington DC, and Bonn, Germany. She also served as assistant to the German Ambassador in Bangui, Central African Republic, and to the German Economic Counselor in Tunisia.


Ms. Gorgens has a BA from the School for Interpreters in Wuerzburg, Germany; an Associate of Science in Nursing from Massachusetts Bay Community College in Wellesley, MA; an RN to BSN at Mercer University’s Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA; and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She completed her residency course in oncology nursing at Emory Healthcare. She holds American Nurses Credentialing Center licensure certification, NCLEX and RN/NP license in Massachusetts and Georgia. She is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Chemotherapy Administration.
