Biography
Ashley H. Aiken, MD, is professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Aiken serves as the director of Head and Neck Imaging. Her major clinical and research interests include head and neck imaging and image-guided procedures in the head and neck.
Education
Dr. Aiken received her MD from Medical School of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her Residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a Fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in San Francisco, California.
Research
Dr. Aiken's major research interests include accurate radiologic staging, the clinical implications of staging and significance of current prognostic features on imaging. She is currently investigating the accuracy of staging oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer and implications on prognosis and surgical management, with a recent publication on lymph node extracapsular spread of tumor.
Publications
Dr. Aiken continues to publish her research and present at various conferences across the country. She is a dedicated educator and lectures nationally. She serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Neuroradiology.
