Biography
Turgay Ayer, PhD, MSc, is the George Family Foundation Assistant Professor of Predictive Health at Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. He is also the research director for medical decision-making in the Center for Health & Humanitarian Systems at Georgia Tech.
Dr. Ayer is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. He is also a member of Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM), and currently serves as the president of the INFORMS Health Application Society.
Education
Dr. Ayer received his PhD and MSc in Industrial and Systems Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Research
Dr. Ayer conducts research on mathematical and computational modeling, with applications in predictive health, medical decision making (in particular, personalized cancer prevention and treatment strategies), healthcare operations, and health policy.
