Imon Banerjee, PhD, holds a joint appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Department of Radiology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Banerjee is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Dr. Banerjee received her PhD in Computer Science from The University of Genova in Italy. During her studies there she received the Marie Curie European fellowship. She completed her postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Quantitative Imaging at Stanford University.
The focus of Dr. Banerjee's lab is the analysis and integration of unstructured medical data (images, 3D models, clinical narratives) to support clinical diagnosis and treatment. In regards to cancer, she's interested in diagnosis and prognosis using deep learning, predictive analysis longitudinal data, and natural language processing of clinical notes.
