Biography

W. Thomas Cash, MD, MSc, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Cash is board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology.

Dr. Cash is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He holds professional memberships with American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Children's Oncology Group and American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Education

Dr. Cash received his MD from University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his residency in pediatrics at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then obtained his MSc in clinical and translational research from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology oncology.

Research

Dr. Cash's research objectives stem from his clinical focus in treating pediatric solid tumor patients with recurrent and/or refractory disease. His broad objective is to identify novel therapeutic agents and to bring the most promising of these agents to clinical trials to improve the outcomes for pediatric patients with relapsed/refractory disease.
