Biography
Enmanuel Chavarria, PhD, MS, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University.
Dr. Chavarria is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control research program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Chavarria received his PhD and his Master of Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Research
Dr. Chavarria's lab focuses on addressing cancer disparities by leveraging communication technologies. His research implements evidence based interventions in community-based settings delivered via culturally salient manners among medically underserved and vulnerable populations.
Dr. Chavarria's research interests are twofold: 1) Investigate reasons for cancer disparities that burden underserved and vulnerable populations, and 2) develop interventions that ameliorate these disparities. His lab aims to promote health equity through research that looks to reduce the burden of cancer incidence and mortality among medically underserved and vulnerable populations.
