Xiaodong Cheng, PhD, is Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Cheng is a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in X-ray crystallography.
Dr. Cheng received his PhD in Protein Crystallography from State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY.
In 2012, Dr. Cheng was elected by his peers as an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow. Dr. Cheng was recognized for his "distinguished contributions to the field of epigenetics by elucidating structural insights and enzymatic mechanisms of DNA and histone modification enzymes."
Dr. Cheng's laboratory research interests are mainly focused on epigenetic modifications of DNA methylation and histone modifications.
