Biography
Ewan K. Cobran, PhD is Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior at University of North Carolina. Dr. Cobran is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control research program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Cobran received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Howard University in Washington, DC. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Cancer Health Disparities at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Research
Dr. Cobran's primary research focuses on oncology, medically underserved populations and cancer health disparities. His research divides race into subcomponents (i.e., ethnicity, nativity, community, familial health experiences and religion) to broaden the understanding of how these factors influence drug use, patterns of care, and perceptions and barriers to detection and treatment of cancer in order to enhance existing theoretical cancer detection and treatment frameworks.
