Biography

Vishal R. Dhere, MD, is assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Dhere specializes in the treatment of cancers of the breast and prostate. He treats patients at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and Emory Proton Therapy Center.

Education

Dr. Dhere received his Medical Degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency in radiation oncology. He served as chief resident during his final year of training.

Research

Dr. Dhere's research interests include the incorporation of advanced imaging in radiation treatment planning as well as patient-reported quality of life following radiation therapy. His research has been featured as a plenary session at the annual ASTRO meeting, and presented at national and international conferences.

Publications

Dr. Dhere has been published in multiple high impact journals such as The Lancet, JAMA, and Cell Reports. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
