Bree Eaton, MD, is a board certified radiation oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Eaton practices general radiation oncology and specializes in the treatment of pediatric cancers and proton therapy. She treats patients at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. She will be a member of the physician team at the Emory Proton Therapy Center once the facility opens in late 2018.
Dr. Eaton graduated suma cum laude from Denver University with a BS in Cognitive Neuroscience, and completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina where she was elected in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. Dr. Eaton completed her Radiation Oncology Residency at Emory University in 2014 where she was selected to serve as chief resident during her final year. As Chief Resident at Emory, Dr. Eaton was involved in the coordination of clinical and didactic training for the residency program comprised of 16 residents. Dr. Eaton went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Proton Radiotherapy and Clinical Research at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University Medical School in Boston, MA before returning to Emory as faculty in August 2015.
Dr. Eaton has been extensively involved in clinical research evaluating the use of radiotherapy in pediatric and adult malignancies. She serves on the NRG Oncology Patient Centered Outcomes Research Committee and completed an intensive five-day fellowship at the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group Headquarters focusing on radiation oncology research. She has been involved with research protocols, particularly related to evaluating new ways of delivering radiotherapy for adult and pediatric brain tumors and assessing the effects of radiation on quality of life.
