Biography

Sarah C. Friend, MD is an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Friend serves as associate medical director of the Ambulatory Infusion Centers at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. A medical oncologist, she treats patients with breast cancer and hematologic disorders at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital.

Dr. Friend holds professional memberships with American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.

Education

Dr. Friend received her MD from Florida State University, College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at University of New Mexico Cancer Center, a NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Research

Dr. Friend's current research focus is in population-based analysis of breast cancer specific survival in Hispanic versus non-Hispanic white women.
