Biography
Jaishree Jagirdar, MBBS, is associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist, Dr. Jagirdar specializes in thoracic pathology and works closely with the multidisciplinary lung cancer care team at Winship Cancer Institute.
Dr. Jagirdar is a member of the Cancer Immunology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Jagirdar earned her Medical Degree and her rotating internship at Calcutta Medical College in Calcutta, India. She completed her residency in pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York.
Research
Dr. Jagirdar's research has focused on clinical and translational projects. Over the years, she has developed creative ways of working on projects that encourage residents, surgical pathology fellows and junior faculty to participate. In recent work, she worked with colleagues and a private firm to customize immunomarkers for distinguishing primary adenocarcinoma of lung from squamous cell carcinoma. She is also interested in exploring interstitial lung disease in hematologic malignancies.
Publications
Dr. Jagirdar is an accomplished author with a number of scientific publications in peer-reviewed jagirdar-jaishreejournals. She has written several book chapters, and has been co-editor of a book on lung cancer and section editor of Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.
