Biography
Dean P. Jones, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Pulmonary Division) and the Department of Biochemistry at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Jones is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Education
Dr. Jones received his PhD in Biochemistry from Oregon Health Sciences University. He then studied nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University and molecular toxicology at the Karolinska Institute as a post-doctoral fellow.
Research
Dr. Jones's central research focus is on redox mechanisms of oxidative stress. He currently directs the Emory Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory, which is focused on oxidative stress biomarkers and applications of 1H-NMR spectroscopy and Fourier-transform mass spectrometry for high-throughput clinical metabolomic analyses of nutritional and environmental factors in human health and disease.

Dr. Jones is an inductee of the MilliPub Club, which recognizes current Emory faculty who have published one or more individual papers throughout their careers that have garnered more than 1,000 citations.
