Biography
Shreyas S. Joshi, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Joshi serves as the Director of the Bladder Cancer Program. A board certified urologist, his clinical interests include the management of complex urologic malignancies, with particular specialization in open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches to prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers, as well as the surgical management of other urologic cancers. Prior to joining Emory in 2019, Dr. Joshi was an attending surgeon at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Dr. Joshi is a member and active participant in the American Urological Association and the Society of Urologic Oncology.
Education
Dr. Joshi earned his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, and obtained his Master of Public Health at Temple University College of Public Health.
Research
Dr. Joshi's research interests include:
- Health outcomes research focused on urologic oncology
- Quality improvement initiatives in surgical care, specifically related to curbing the opioid epidemic
- Access to quality surgical care, particularly improving screening and treatment for minorities with urologic diseases
- Global surgical health, primarily in the areas of comparative effectiveness in cancer surgery and surgical disparities research
- Machine learning applications to urologic oncology
