Daniel Kalman, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Kalman is a faculty member of the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Program in the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Emory Laney Graduate School.

Research
The general goal of Dr. Kalman's laboratory is to understand how bacterial and viral pathogens interface with the host. His lab team has focused on two mechanistic aspects of this interface: the immunological detection and clearance of the infection, and host systems utilized by the pathogen to facilitate infection.
