Biography
William Lewis, MD, is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis also served as Investigator at the Center for AIDS Research at Emory University. Prior to joining Emory University, he held faculty positions at the University of Cincinnati and UCLA. Additionally, Dr. Lewis is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Education
Dr. Lewis earned his MD from Boston University School of Medicine. He then completed an internship at Boston Veteran Administration Hospital, residencies at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Boston City Hospital, and fellowships at Mallory Institute of Pathology and Boston Veterans Administration Hospital.
Research
Dr. Lewis's research interests include mitochondrial DNA replication in diseases, AIDS, congestive heart failure, hepatitis, and renal failure.
