Biography
Steven H. Liang, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and serves as director of the Radiochemistry, Cyclotron Facility and Radiopharmacy Center for System Imaging at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Liang also heads the Emory Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Center.
Dr. Liang is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. He holds professional memberships with American Chemical Society, Canadian Society of Chemistry, Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and Sino-American Society of Nuclear Medicine. He is past president of the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Council, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
Education
Dr. Liang earned his PhD from The University of British Columbia in Kelowna, British Columbia. He completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Research
Dr. Liang's research interests are centered on the discovery of PET ligands for important yet underexplored neurological receptors, transporters and enzymes, and subsequently transition new diagnostics into human use.
Publications
Dr. Liang has been published extensively in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals. He serves on the editorial boards of American Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Theranostics and Molecular Imaging. He also serves as associate editor for Frontiers in Chemistry.
