Dr. Mattheyses joined the Emory University Department of Cell Biology in 2010. Her research program focuses on developing new microscopy methods to investigate interactions between cells. She is also the Associate director of the Emory Integrated Cellular Imaging (ICI) core, a jointly managed shared resource of the Winship Cancer Center and Emory University School of Medicine. ICI provides access to state of the art microscopes and expertise to support researchers across campus.
Dr. Mattheyses' laboratory has received funding from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, and the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Mattheyses received her PhD in Biophysics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2005. She then completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute Pasteur in Paris, France and at The Rockefeller University in New York, NY with Professor Sanford Simon in the Laboratory of Cellular Biophysics.
