Biography

Haider A. Mejbel, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Mejbel is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.

Education

Dr. Mejbel received his Medical Degree from Mustansiriyah University College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq. He completed postdoctoral training in molecular, genetics and translational pathology at Texas Children Hospital in Houston, Texas. He went on to do his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed a fellowship in molecular genetics pathology at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Research

Dr. Mejbel's research aims to explore and investigate cancer at its molecular level in an attempt to further characterize cancer biology and to understand how cancer behaves.
