Biography

Sarah G. Mitchell, MD, is a pediatric oncologist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mitchell works as part of a large, multidisciplinary team at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center focusing her clinical care on treating children with solid tumors and rare tumors. She additionally has a special interest in genetic risks for children with cancer, and also sees patients as part of the subspecialty pediatric cancer predisposition clinic.

Education

Dr. Mitchell received her Medical Degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her pediatric residency training and a chief resident year at the University of Minnesota before moving to Atlanta for a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Emory and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Research

Dr. Mitchell's research is focused on novel therapy for patients with relapsed osteosarcoma and identification of psychosocial issues for patients with inherited cancer predisposition syndromes.
