Jiyoung Mun, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory School of Medicine.
Dr. Mun is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics research program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Dr. Mun received her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. She completed her postdoctoral training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Mun aims to develop small molecular radiotracers for positron emission tomography (PET) to probe metabolic changes related to disease progression. Her ultimate goal is to improve patient management by providing a noninvasive tool to diagnose disease, determine an individual's treatment regimen, and measure treatment efficacy. Dr. Mun's research interest is in the development of a fluorine-18 PET tracer to measure hypoxia-related metabolic changes and a receptor-targeted PET tracer for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
