Biography
Nawazish Naqvi, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine's Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Naqvi is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Education
Dr. Naqvi received his Master of Science in medical genetics at the University of Glasgow in the UK. He then went on to earn his PhD in medicine at the University of Sydney in Australia.
Research
Dr. Naqvi's research is focused on cell cycle, cell proliferation and survival, DNA damage, reactive oxygen species and cardiac regeneration.

Dr. Naqvi was a recipient of the Cancer Research Memorial Award from the North Shore Research Foundation in Sydney, Australia. He also was awarded the Outstanding Oral Presentation-Basic Science- at the Department of Medicine Research Day at Emory University. Dr. Naqvi has also received the Outstanding Citation Award from the Department of Medicine at Emory University.
