Biography

Douglas C. Parker, MD, first started practicing at Emory Healthcare in 2003. Board certified in anatomic pathology and in dermatopathology, Dr. Parker is involved in the histopathologic interpretation and diagnosis of skin lesions for patients at both Emory University Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Education

Dr. Parker received a DDS from the University Of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry and a MD from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed postdoctoral training with a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology, a Residency in Anatomic Pathology and a Fellowship in Dermatopathology, all at Emory University School of Medicine.

Research

Dr. Parker's primary research focus is melanocytic neoplasms, with an emphasis on unusual variants of melanocytic nevi and melanoma including desmoplastic melanoma. In addition, he is involved in clinical, histopathologic and immunohistochemical studies aimed at further delineating the role of sentinel lymph node biopsy in melanoma and melanocytic neoplasms of uncertain biologic potential.
