Biography
Ashish B. Patel, MD, MBA, is associate professor and serves as vice chair for quality and safety in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel also serves as medical director of radiation oncology at Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory Hillandale Hospital.
Board certified in radiation oncology, he specializes in brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy. He treats patients with gynecologic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, head and neck, and thoracic malignancies, and sarcoma.
Prior to joining Emory, he was clinical director of radiation oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, Cooper University Healthcare.
Education
Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed his residency in radiation oncology at University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was Chief Resident in his final year of residency training. He received his MBA from Booth School of Business, University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
