Biography
Snehal G. Patel, MD, MS, FACS, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of General and GI Surgery of the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. He joined the Emory faculty in 2016. A board certified surgeon, Dr. Patel specializes in malignancies of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal gland.
Dr. Patel is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds professional memberships with Alpha Omega Alpha, Medical Honor Society, American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons.
Education
Dr. Patel received his MD and graduated summa cum laude from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his general surgery residency at Emory University and completed an endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
Research
Dr. Patel's research focuses on defining the role of molecular markers in thyroid cancer patients and investigating the preoperative detection of thyroid cancer.
