Muna Qayed, MD, MsCR, is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Qayed is an attending physician in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation and medical director of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Dr. Qayed is a member of the Cancer Immunology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Qayed earned her MD from the University of Jordan. She also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research from Emory University. After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Qayed completed a rotating internship at Ministry of Health Hospitals and a pediatric residency at King Hussein Cancer Center, both in Jordan. She then completed another residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Michigan and fellowships in pediatric hematology and oncology and stem cell transplantation at Emory University.

Research
Dr. Qayed's research interests include developing more effective prophylaxis/treatment against graft versus host disease (GVHD) in patients undergoing allogeneic blood and marrow transplant and incorporating biomarkers for early diagnosis. Her current work focuses on establishing an institutional biorepository of bone marrow transplant patient samples linked to clinical data and investigating the use of autologous mesenchymal stromal cells for the treatment of GVHD.
In 2021, Dr. Qayed was inducted to the MilliPub Club, which recognizes current Emory faculty who have published one or more individual papers throughout their careers that have garnered more than 1,000 citations.
