Biography

Zhaohui "Steve" Qin, PhD, MS, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. Dr. Qin is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship.

Education

Dr. Qin earned his PhD and MS in Statistics from the University of Michigan. After obtaining his PhD, Dr. Qin completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Statistics at Harvard University.

Research

Dr. Qin's research is in the areas of statistical genetics, genomics and bioinformatics. A major focus of Dr. Qin's research is on developing and evaluating model-based methods to analyze genetics and genomics data, in particular, next generation sequencing data, and on developing software so that the methods can be easily adopted by the research community.
