Biography

Leila Rieder, PhD, MA is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Emory University. Dr. Rieder is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.

Education

Dr. Rieder received her PhD and her MA in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She completed her postdoctoral training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey.

Research

The long term goal of Dr. Rieder's laboratory is to determine how nuclear domains are established during early embryogenesis and maintained—or revised—throughout development. This work is critical to their broader understanding of gene regulation during development.
