Biography
Nicholas Seyfried, PhD, is Professor of Biochemistry and Neurology and is a member of the Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases. As Director of the Emory Integrated Proteomics Core, Dr. Seyfried coordinates efforts with Duc Duong, Phd, to address the needs of investigators needing protein analytical services by cutting edge mass spectrometry.
Dr. Seyfried holds memberships with American Society for Mass Spectrometry, Society for Neuroscience and American Society for Neurochemistry.
Education
Dr. Seyfried obtained his BS in biological chemistry from Boston College and his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine and held a postdoctoral research position in the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center at the University of Georgia.
Research
Dr. Seyfried's research is focused on the use of quantitative proteomics to identify and characterize disease-specific proteins and their post-translational modifications (PTMs) in neurodegeneration.
