Biography

David D. Shepard, MD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. A certified hematologist and medical oncologist, Dr. Shepard sees patients with cancer at Emory Decatur Hospital.

Education

Dr. Shepard received his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana where he also completed his internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital. He completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While at University of Michigan, he participated in both clinical and laboratory based research. He was a member of the American Society of Hematology Trainee Council, making efforts to improve medical education in hematology as well as recruit underprivileged students into the field of medicine.
