Biography

Qiuying Shi, MD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified pathologist with head and neck surgical pathology subspecialty training, Dr. Shi specializes in head and neck cancer, and thyroid cancer pathology.

Dr. Shi is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship. She also holds professional memberships with United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology, American Society for Cytopathology, American Society for Clinical Pathology, and College of American Pathologists.

Education

Dr. Shi obtained her Medical Degree and an MS in otolaryngology from Shanxi Medical University in Shanxi, China. She completed her fellowship in anatomic pathology at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her residency in anaomitc and clinical pathology at University of Illinois at Chicago. She has also completed fellowship in head and neck cytopathology  at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a fellowship insurgical pathology at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Aabama.

Research

Dr. Shi's research interests include cancer immunophenotypic and molecular analysis in the upper aerodigestive tract, upper respiratory tract, salivary glands, and thyroid gland.
