Biography

Winifred W. Thompson, PhD, MSW is Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education at Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. Dr. Thompson is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship.

Education

Dr. Thompson earned her PhD in health promotion, education, and behavior from the University of South Carolina. She also holds a certificate in women's studies from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Georgia.

Research

Dr. Thompson's research interests include breast and gynecological cancers, patient navigation, cancer survivorship, maternal and child health, holistic health and community health development.
