Biography
Kartik Viswanathan, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Viswanathan's clinical specialties include head and neck surgical pathology, endocrine surgical pathology, and cytopathology.
Dr. Viswathanathan is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Viswanathan received his MD from Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, New York, and his PhD from Stanford University in Stanford, California where he also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship. He completed his medical residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, New York. He completed a fellowship in cytopathology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Research
Dr. Viswanathan's research interest is in the areas of head and neck malignancies, particularly salivary gland cancers, and endocrine malignancies, particularly those pertaining to thyroid and parathyroid.
