Biography
Ms. Byrd received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1988 and holds a Nurse Navigator Certificate from Georgia Highlands College. She has worked at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital since 1996 and has been a nurse navigator since 2007. Her work experience has been in medical-surgical nursing, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, radiology, breast imaging, and breast oncology. She assists patients being treated for breast cancer at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital.
Research
Ms. Byrd has written several abstracts that were accepted for poster presentations. Most recent being the improvement of turn- around time for reporting hormone receptor results for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
