Biography

Erica N. Scott, RN, BSN, is a breast imaging nurse navigator at Emory Johns Creek Center for Breast Care where she navigates patients from screening mammogram through diagnosis of breast cancer. Prior to joining the breast imaging team, she was the nurse manager for the Emory Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic. In her current role, she provides patients with education regarding abnormal mammograms, biopsies and self-breast exams; coordinates multiple appointments for patients to include surgical and medical oncology; and ensures that patients have the support needed during the continuum of care. Her work experience in women's health includes labor and delivery, obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic oncology, and breast imaging.

Ms. Scott has attended local navigation conferences to further her knowledge of the current practices related to breast care navigation. She has also participated and volunteered in several community events to include the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Ladies Night Out, Emory Johns Creek Hospital 5K Scrub Run and Health Festival, and several other community events and health fairs in the metro Atlanta area.

Ms. Scott is member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators.

Education

Ms. Scott received her Associate in Nursing degree in 2003 from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 2013.
