Quang Dang, CMD, joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in 2018. As chief proton dosimetrist, Quang will lead the dosimetry team at the Emory Proton Therapy Center currently under construction and set to open later this year. He received his dosimetry training in both proton and conventional photon therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachussetts, back in 2009. He later became board certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board in 2011.
Prior to joining Emory, Quang worked as the dosimetry manager at the Seattle Proton Therapy Center. During this time, he led his team in developing standard guidelines for treatment planning using intensity modulated proton therapy. His areas of interest include clinical workflow optimization, automation, and standardization to improve quality of care and patient safety.
