Katherine Easton, LCSW, OSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Georgia and is certified as an Oncology Social Worker by the National Board of Oncology Social Work. Ms. Easton has over twenty-five years of experience in medical social work in both the acute and outpatient setting. She works with radiation oncology patients treated at Emory Proton Therapy Center.
Prior to joining Emory, Ms. Easton served eight years as an Oncology Social Worker at Atlanta Cancer Care, a hematology/oncology practice affiliated with Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in Atlanta. She previously served seven years as an Oncology Social Worker for Southeastern Gynecologic Oncology, a gynecologic oncology practice previously affiliated with Emory Healthcare. She has worked as an oncology social worker and discharge planner in the acute setting for Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital and Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
Ms. Easton is a member and professional mentor for the Association of Oncology Social Work and is a past-president of the Georgia Social Work Oncology Group. She has presented numerous workshop and panel presentations for the National Association of Social Workers, the Association of Oncology Social Work, Association of Nurse and Patient Navigators, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, the Society of Gynecologic Nurse Oncologists, the Florida Association of Oncology Social Work, and the Cancer Support Community of Atlanta. She is a regular feature presenter for Chemoflage, a program designed to help women address chemotherapy-related side effects. She has published articles published in Journal of Social Work in End of Life & Palliative Care, Journal of Psychosocial Oncology, CONQUER and Coping with Cancer Magazine.
