Biography
Yuning Hou, MD, PhD, serves as technical director of the Cancer Animal Models Shared Resource at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Dr. Hou is responsible for establishing cancer animal models (CDX, PDX, carcinogen-induced model), performing drug and substance delivery as well as tumor growth measurement and data analysis, and assisting in experimental design and IACUC protocol preparation. He also provides training and assistance services for optical (IVIS) imaging and radiographic (SmART) imaging and/or treatment.
Education
Dr. Hou earned his Medical Degree from Xinxiang Medical University in China and his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Research
Dr. Hou has spent years investigating issues related to molecular factors affecting the development of cancer and inflammatory disease using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models. During his PhD and post-doctoral training period, he authored 14 peer-reviewed papers, a book chapter, and seven conference abstracts. He is also confluent in grant and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol writing.
