Albert Phillips is a Licensed Master Social Worker who joined the Winship Social Services team in 2021. Mr. Phillips provides clinical social work for patients who have hematological malignancies in the Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Center at Winship.
A proud US Army veteran, Mr. Phillips began his helping career working for the US Department of Veteran Affairs in Atlanta, Georgia providing therapy and a variety of mental health services specifically to veterans turning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He provided, case management, crisis intervention and counseling to veterans and their families as they transitioned off of active duty service and back to their respective communities. He has a variety of mental health and substance use experience in the Atlanta metro area having worked at Peachford Hospital, St. Jude's Recovery Center and Georgia Regional Hospital.
Mr. Phillips is a graduate of Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work in 2014. He went on to earn a Master of Social Work degree in 2017 from the University of Louisville in Kentucky where he specialized in military social work.
