Biography

Catherine came to Winship after 30 years as a producer for local Atlanta news stations, national news networks in Atlanta and New York, and documentary television. She has produced magazine, documentary and daily news programming, and has won awards for special reports covering health/science, public affairs and entertainment.

Catherine began her career in New York as a writer for both print and broadcast news outlets, and came to Atlanta in 1991. She is glad to be focusing her energies on the inspiring mission of Winship and to be working with people dedicated to finding better treatments for cancer patients everywhere.

Education

Catherine earned her M.A. in American Studies, at The George Washington University, Washington DC and her B.A. in Literature at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Awards

Catherine received five Southeast Emmy and two Georgia Association of Broadcasters awards for the hour-long magazine show "Minute By Minute with Brenda Wood," as well as three Southeast Emmy awards for special news reports.
