During your visit, you will meet with a team of specialists, review your diagnosis and receive a personalized care plan in one coordinated appointment.
A Team-Based Approach to Your Care
At Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, our Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) Multidisciplinary Clinic is designed to provide coordinated, expert care in a single visit, giving you clear answers, a personalized plan and confidence in your next steps.
Neuroendocrine tumors are complex and can vary from person to person. While neuroendocrine tumors are rare, your care is guided by a team of specialists with deep experience in NET diagnosis, treatment and research.
What to Expect
Before your appointment, our team reviews your medical records, pathology reports, lab results and imaging whenever possible. This preparation allows us to focus your visit on what matters most: understanding your condition and planning your care.
During your visit, you will meet with specialists from medical oncology and surgical oncology together. Your case is also reviewed in collaboration with experts in interventional radiology and nuclear medicine.
Your care team may also include:
- Nutrition specialists
- Oncology social workers
- Palliative and supportive care providers
- Nurse navigators
- Clinical trials coordinators
A nurse navigator may help guide you through your visit and serve as a point of contact for questions.
What Happens During Your Visit
This coordinated approach allows our team to:
- Review your diagnosis and medical history together
- Evaluate your imaging and pathology in detail
- Discuss treatment options, including surgery, systemic therapy, liver-directed therapy, surveillance, clinical trials and additional testing
- Develop a personalized treatment and surveillance plan tailored to your goals and disease type
Because you are seeing multiple specialists, your visit may take longer than a typical clinic appointment. We encourage you to bring a family member, caregiver or support person.
After Your Visit
Following your evaluation, our team will coordinate next steps, which may include:
- Additional imaging or lab testing
- Referrals to other specialists within our neuroendocrine tumor program
- Case review at a multidisciplinary tumor board
- Discussion of treatment options or clinical trials
- Ongoing monitoring and follow-up care planning
Our goal is for you to leave your visit with clarity, support and a path forward.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
To help us provide the most efficient and complete evaluation, please bring:
- CDs or electronic copies of CT scans, MRIs, PET scans or other imaging performed outside our system
- Printed imaging reports, if available
- Pathology reports or biopsy results
- A current list of medications
- A list of questions or concerns you would like to discuss
Even if your records have already been sent, bringing copies can help prevent delays.
