Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University hosts a number of Continuing Education symposia throughout the year featuring focused topics by specific cancer type.

Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology Conference

Each summer, Winship hosts the Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology Conference. The conference features a comprehensive review into mechanisms of disease and treatments for patients with cancer or blood disorders. Interactive debates and didactic lectures on controversial topics and standards of care offer attendees the opportunity to hear how science supports each point of view. Presentations and discussions focus on current basic and clinical research, including the use of molecular targeted therapy, immunotherapies, and other novel therapeutic approaches.

This activity is planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) through the joint providership of prIME Oncology and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. prIME Oncology is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This activity is approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

The 2016 Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology conference will be held in Sea Island, Georgia from July 27 to July 31, 2016.

Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium

Winship's annual Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, held each fall in Atlanta, includes a series of interactive case-based presentations and didactic lectures. Presenters from medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and gastroenterology give a comprehensive overview of new developments in the treatment of cancers.

The 6th annual Winship Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium was held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Future date for the next symposium is yet to be determined.

Melanoma Conference

The Winship Cancer Institute Melanoma Conference serves as a valuable forum for the presentation and discussion of newly available data. Participants will be provided with an update on practice-changing data in a practical and interactive format, fostering discussion and impacting clinical outcomes for patients with melanoma.

The 2016 Winship Cancer Institute Melanoma Conference was held at the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 27. Future date for the next conference is yet to be determined.

Winship Oncology Nursing Symposium

Our annual Winship Oncology Nursing Symposium, held each spring, is a comprehensive oncology nursing education program drawing participants from throughout the United States and internationally.

Hosted by the Winship Clinical Trials Office, the Mastering Clinical Research series provides useful information to improve the quality of clinical research at Winship.

Winship Multidisciplinary Oncology Grand Rounds are held Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. in the John H. Kauffman Auditorium (Room C5012, 5th Floor Winship).
